The Licenses Problem

ThinPrint .Print Application Server uses a license key specified at the Installation step. This Key has to be activated within 30 days before the product stops working.

This key can then be deleted with the product console but then you won't be able to install it again even if doing a full product installation again.  

If you try to install the accidentally deleted key again, you'll get the following error message :

How can you install it again ?

Solution :

The license Key is stored in two places :

• In the Windows Registry, Under "HKLM\Software\ThinPrint\Licenses"
• In the System Folder "%Windir%", as an Alternate Data Stream (Alternate Data Streams - Ref. http://www.securityfocus.com/infocus/1822)

To be able to use your deleted key again, you have to suppress its references stored into the Alternate Data Stream within "%windir%".

To do so, you'll have to use the ADSSpy Software and make it scan Your Windows Folder :

Select Then the Deleted Key and hit "Remove Selected Streams".

You can now install again the accidentally deleted Thinprint License !
