New Article : Automatically Define Microsoft Office UserName / Company for Terminal Servers & XenApp Users Sunday, May 24, 2009 (888 reads)
I was recently working on a large migration project in which we had to clean the users profiles.
To ease Users experience, we had to develop a way to avoid the eternal first run Microsoft Office Popup asking for Username, Company and Initials.
As these settings relies on reg values, this could be easy to define them by logon script.
However, as they are hardcoded within reg binaries values, scripting these settings is not as simple as it could have been ...

New Article : Programmatically Rename XenApp autocreated client printers Friday, August 14, 2009 (1101 reads)
One of my team member has recently had to work on a project involving the deployment of an SAP Module.
This specific application had some requirements, the biggest were on printers names : No Space and Short Names.
As we wanted to use the Citrix Universal Print Driver (UPD v3) and autocreated printers, these requirements could have been a pretty bad issue to deal with.

As far as I've found on the Web, there were no article describing how to achieve this.
I've had to deal with such an issue some years ago, and wrote a script to rename printers. But the script alone is not enough ...

New Article : Lockdown Internet Explorer for Web Applications Publishing Saturday, August 29, 2009 (874 reads)
That's a fact, XenApp is also used to deploy rich Web Applications. To deploy such applications, one of the first Admins challenge is to be able to secure Internet Explorer, so that, it could be (for example) locked down to only these specific web applications. There are plenty of Internet Explorer policies embedded with the system, but some of them are not included in the standard .adm files ...
