While working on a XenDesktop Project, I've been missing the versatility of the XenApp Cloning Tool, mainly regarding some of its abilities like to tune the image (no manual reg values edit required), to execute tasks within the cloning process and only if image is in read only mode (like prepopulating streamed apps packages) ...

Based on this features, I've decided to build a new tool, focused on XenDesktop (with or without VDA, because you can also use it for Streamed Desktops) designed to push this features on the XenDesktop 4 platform.

Existing XenApp Cloning Tool users won't be surprised, because the Interface is nearly the same and all nice features (tuning, cache initialization, external tasks ...) are still present.

If the VDA is installed, then the related services will be stopped at cloning mode and started after the tool has finished its work, to ensure the Virtual Desktop is available only when the work is done.

Features like Silent Mode, MSMQ Cloning or Portable Profiles cache management are also still present.
