Please can anyone let me know if there is a XenApp 4.5 x64 version of this tool that overcome issues with disconnected rdp sesssions etc.
Thanks Adrian
Dear Adrian,
I dot not have any specific x64 Release now but If you're ok to work with me doing some Debug I can compile one for you.
The Latest Version, As Stated in the Support Section is overcoming issues with Disconnected RDP Sessions. All sessions (ICA or RDP) will be disconnected except "Console" Ones because the XenApp SDK is not able to do so and raises an exception.
Best Regards,
Pierre
Dear Pierre,
I'm willing to help. I hope I can be of some use and that I don't go out of my depth with the debugging. I don't have an extensive 4.5 development area however I do have a 4.5 CPS (wash my mouth out - I mean XenApp) that hasn't gone into production yet that I can use.
If it was necessary how simple would it be to uninstall? Also is there any further information about the symptoms disconnected RDP causes? I've noticed on our site Windows 2003 Server x64 with XenApp 4.5 Platinum that after a scheduled reboot we occassionaly get unexpected shutdown notices in the event log. I wondered if this was one of the symptoms that is addressed?
Regards, Adrian
p.s. "C'est un site delight!"
It'd be an .msi packaged Version that You could uninstall through Add / Remove Programs. I'll try to get myself a 64 Bits environment running to do the first tests.
Regarding the RDP Issues, it is not related with the error messages You quoted. These are related to the scheduled reboot API (so does the Citrix one) as it is getting a token and generating an interrupt to be sure the OS will allways reboot.
Sometimes Windows consider it as an unexpected shutdown and that's why a warning is generated.
The RDP issues that were fixed in the latest version are related to the Disconnected Sessions Logoff function which was raising an error in the event log when disconnected RDP console were left on the server during the Logoff Schedules.
PS : Thank You !
Pierre, does there happen to be any built in msiexec commands to the msi so that I may push this install via IM without being prompted to configre all the settings during the install. In other words I just want to install the service on all of my servers and then control the settings from a central management server.
Thanks,
Ryan
